Skin overview

This M249 finish relies on contrast between pale blue and black bands rather than fine detail. At Well-Worn the paint is noticeably thinned on the raised parts and edges, and the grey metal shows through in many places, softening the hypnotic effect. The overall ring layout is still clear at normal viewing distance.

Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Well-Worn

The finish lays wide alternating bands of pale blue and dark grey-black over the whole weapon in a concentric ring pattern. The box magazine carries the clearest set of circles, which makes it the visual centre of the skin.

Wear spreads from the edges onto the receiver, feed cover and stock, with larger patches of grey metal. The magazine keeps its rings in the centre, but the outer bands are broken up. In game the gun looks clearly worn and the blue looks less bright. The central faces of the magazine are the cleanest areas left.

Well-Worn wear: float 0.38–0.45

The float of Souvenir M249 | Hypnosis ranges from 0 to 1; the Well-Worn quality covers 0.38–0.45 — 7% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in blue, white, black or holographic silver tones match the ring palette. Placements on the receiver side keep the magazine circles free, so the main motif stays visible.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade show fewer chips.
  • Look at the magazine corners and the top of the receiver, as these edges lose paint first.
  • Inspect the magazine rings in the preview, because they are the main visual point of the skin.
  • Note any stickers or name tag and whether they fit the blue and black scheme.

Who the Well-Worn quality suits

  • Budget buyers who still want the skin's recognisable layout.
  • Players who prefer a noticeably worn, softer blue.
  • An affordable way to own the design.
