Show allAllSkin overview
In Field-Tested, Dark Water keeps its general character as a dark, almost monochrome M4A1-S with watery grey streaks across the metal. Light scuffing on edges and protruding parts fits the aquatic, uneven pattern rather than spoiling it, since the finish never relied on bright colour. This grade is the more affordable way to get the same silhouette and mood.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.
Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.
The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Field-Tested
The whole rifle is covered in charcoal metallic paint, with lighter silver-grey stripes and blotches running through it in a flowing, water-like pattern. The ribbed handguard and the magazine show the pattern most clearly, while the receiver carries smaller grey patches around the carry handle and magazine well.
Field-Tested copies have visible scuffs on the magazine edges, the handguard ribs, the carry handle and the suppressor end, where lighter chrome begins to break through the dark paint. The receiver sides and the stock pick up light scratches, while the flat panels keep most of the pattern. In game the rifle still reads as dark and coherent, and the wear blends into the grey streaks. Since the float range of this skin stops early in this grade, even the most worn copies avoid heavy damage.
Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.26
The whole float range of Souvenir M4A1-S | Dark Water is 0.1–0.26; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.26 segment (69% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Arms Deal Collection with 9 skins in total.
It drops from CS:GO Weapon Case (on sale since Sep 20, 2013).
What it costs in each quality
Taking Field-Tested as the baseline, Minimal Wear — 6.4× dearer. The comparison uses our cheapest listing of each quality; where there is none, the market reference.
Among 10 skins of the M4A1-S in the Restricted grade and this quality, this skin is the dearest.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Silver, holo and foil stickers in grey, white or cool blue tones match the metallic streaks without breaking the dark scheme. A single bright accent near the magazine well can work as contrast, while crowded colourful crafts tend to clash with the monochrome finish.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the grade, since cleaner copies keep the suppressor tip and magazine edges intact.
- Look at the magazine and handguard on inspect, because the reflective pattern is most visible there.
- Note that StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions exist, and Souvenir copies may carry stickers that change the look.
- Check any applied stickers or name tag, as they matter more on a quiet, dark finish like this one.
Who the Field-Tested quality suits
- Players on a budget who want the same dark look for everyday matches.
- Buyers who like a slightly used metal feel, where scuffs blend into the pattern.
- Those looking for a calm CT rifle without paying for the cleanest grade.
- Conclusion: a sensible entry point that keeps most of the skin's character.
