Skin overview

Nightmare is recognisable by its blue-on-black palette and jagged, claw-like shapes running along the whole rifle. In Well-Worn the darker base hides much of the damage, though bare metal patches break up the cyan lines on the suppressor, handguard and magazine. The colour scheme still reads, the fine detail less so.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Well-Worn

The base colour is a deep navy close to black, covered with bright cyan and pale blue strokes that form claws, scales and sharp curved shapes. The receiver carries the densest part of the motif, with the creature's clawed outline wrapping around the magazine well and trigger area.

Bare metal patches cover larger areas of the suppressor and handguard, and chips appear on the magazine, stock butt and receiver edges. The cyan lines are broken in many places. In game the rifle still reads as dark blue with bright accents, but the motif looks patchy. The centre of the receiver keeps the most paint.

Well-Worn quality — float range 0.38–0.45

The float of Souvenir M4A1-S | Nightmare ranges from 0 to 1; the Well-Worn quality covers 0.38–0.45 — 7% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Horizon Collection with 17 skins in total.

The source is Horizon Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in cyan, ice blue, silver or black match the cold palette and blend with the dark body. Holo and foil stickers with blue tones work well on the receiver, while warm colours such as red or gold give deliberate contrast if used sparingly.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since low-float copies of a grade look noticeably cleaner on the suppressor and handguard.
  • Inspect the suppressor tip and handguard ribs first, as these are the parts that lose paint earliest.
  • Look at any applied stickers and how worn they are, because they change the look of the dark receiver.
  • If you want a StatTrak™ or Souvenir copy, confirm the label and any name tag before buying.

Who should buy Well-Worn

  • Budget buyers who want the blue-on-black look rather than a clean finish.
  • Players who rarely inspect the weapon and care about the overall colours.
  • Conclusion: an affordable way to carry the Nightmare palette.
