M4A4 | Faded Zebra in Battle-Scarred is a heavily chipped spray finish where dark metal breaks through the olive and grey-brown stripes. The zebra motif survives mostly on the stock, magazine face and receiver sides. The float range stops short of the worst possible values, so even the most worn copies keep part of the pattern.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The whole rifle is sprayed in a dusty olive-khaki base with a mottled, grainy texture, crossed by darker grey-brown zebra stripes. On the receiver and lower the stripes run at an angle, continuing across the magazine and the pistol grip.
Battle-Scarred shows heavy chipping across the barrel, handguard, carry handle and magazine, with dark metal covering much of the front half. The pistol grip and stock edges are also worn through. Remnants of the zebra stripes stay on the receiver sides and the centre of the stock. In game the rifle reads as dark and battered with a hint of olive camo.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8
The whole float range of Souvenir M4A4 | Faded Zebra is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The eSports 2013 Collection with 9 skins in total.
It drops from eSports 2013 Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Stickers in olive, tan, brown, black or matte gold keep the muted military look of the stripes. Placing them on the receiver side or magazine, where the stripes are widest, keeps the pattern readable. Bright or glossy holo stickers stand out sharply against the faded palette and suit a contrast craft.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since low-float Field-Tested copies look close to Minimal Wear.
- Inspect the muzzle, carry handle and magazine edges, as these lose paint first.
- Look at any applied stickers and their wear, because they change the muted look of the finish.
- Check whether the copy has a name tag and whether it is StatTrak™ or Souvenir, as both versions exist.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Budget players who want any skin on their M4A4 instead of the default finish.
- Fans of a dark, battered weapon look with only traces of camo.
- Conclusion: the cheapest way in, for those who do not mind heavy wear.
