Skin overview

M4A4 | Faded Zebra is a spray-painted rifle covered in dark brownish-grey zebra stripes over a dusty olive-khaki base. In Factory New the stripes keep their edges and the mottled texture looks even across the whole weapon. The faded palette is part of the design, so a clean copy already looks muted rather than glossy.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The whole rifle is sprayed in a dusty olive-khaki base with a mottled, grainy texture, crossed by darker grey-brown zebra stripes. On the receiver and lower the stripes run at an angle, continuing across the magazine and the pistol grip.

Factory New copies show the full spray coat with no chips on any part of the rifle. Since the float range does not start at zero, the finish is never perfectly pristine, but no damage is visible in practice. The stripes and the grainy texture look even on the handguard, magazine and stock. In game the rifle reads as a clean, muted striped camo.

Factory New quality — float range 0.06–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir M4A4 | Faded Zebra is 0.06–0.8; Factory New takes the 0.06–0.07 segment (1% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The eSports 2013 Collection with 9 skins in total.

The source is eSports 2013 Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in olive, tan, brown, black or matte gold keep the muted military look of the stripes. Placing them on the receiver side or magazine, where the stripes are widest, keeps the pattern readable. Bright or glossy holo stickers stand out sharply against the faded palette and suit a contrast craft.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since low-float Field-Tested copies look close to Minimal Wear.
  • Inspect the muzzle, carry handle and magazine edges, as these lose paint first.
  • Look at any applied stickers and their wear, because they change the muted look of the finish.
  • Check whether the copy has a name tag and whether it is StatTrak™ or Souvenir, as both versions exist.

Who should buy Factory New

  • Collectors who want the cleanest available version of this finish.
  • Sticker crafters who need an untouched base for a muted military craft.
  • Conclusion: the full, even coat for those who care about condition.
