Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the roughest version of Heat: much of the edge glow is gone and bare metal shows through on corners and raised parts. What is left looks like scorched, beaten steel, which suits buyers who want the forge look at the lowest grade.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, magazine and grip are covered in a dark charcoal-grey paint with a faint reddish tint toward the edges. Every contour of the gun is traced with a bright yellow line fading into orange, as if the metal were still glowing from the forge.

Most of the edge glow is gone from the receiver, barrel, magazine and grip, and bare metal is exposed on all raised parts. The dark panels are heavily scratched. At normal distance the gun reads as worn dark steel with only traces of orange. Only recessed areas keep some of the original colour.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1

The whole float range of Souvenir MAC-10 | Heat is 0–1; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–1 segment (55% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir MAC-10 | Heat belongs to The Phoenix Collection, which holds 13 skins.

The source is Operation Phoenix Weapon Case (on sale since Feb 19, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, holo and foil stickers in yellow, orange or red tones match the glowing outlines. Dark or black stickers on the flat side of the receiver blend with the charcoal body without breaking the edge lines.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the float position within the wear range, since the edge outlines are the first thing to fade and lower floats keep them noticeably cleaner.
  • Check the receiver corners, top rail and magazine base in inspect, as these parts lose the glow first.
  • Consider whether applied stickers suit the dark and orange palette, because they cannot be moved.
  • Note any name tag and decide if it fits the forge theme or if you prefer a clean copy.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Buyers looking for the cheapest way to own this finish.
  • Players who like a scorched, beaten-steel look.
  • Conclusion: the budget grade for a rough forge style.
