Skin overview

MAG-7 | Cobalt Core combines a dark blue panelled body with turquoise accent lines. Its float range ends early in the Battle-Scarred band, so even the most worn copies keep a fair share of blue and cyan rather than turning fully grey. It is the most affordable way into this design.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver is covered in angular slate-blue plates with darker blue sections and a fine speckled texture, separated by thin glowing cyan lines. The foregrip continues the same blue panelling with curved turquoise strips, and a cyan ring sits on the muzzle behind the dark gunmetal barrel.

Edges, the top rail, the muzzle and the magazine show heavy wear, and the cyan trim is broken in many places. Because the range stops early in this grade, the damage is closer to a heavy Well-Worn than to a fully stripped finish. In game the blue base is still recognisable with grey patches across it. The central plates keep part of the original colour and lines.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.5

The whole float range of Souvenir MAG-7 | Cobalt Core is 0–0.5; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.5 segment (10% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir MAG-7 | Cobalt Core belongs to The Shadow Collection, which holds 16 skins.

It drops from Shadow Case (on sale since Sep 15, 2015).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in cyan, teal, white or silver tones match the turquoise lines and the steel-blue base. Holo and foil stickers with a cool palette fit the futuristic style, while warm reds or yellows will clash with the scheme. The flat side of the receiver gives the cleanest placement without covering the cyan accents.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies at the clean end of a grade keep noticeably more cyan trim.
  • Look at the top rail, muzzle ring and magazine bottom, which lose paint first on this finish.
  • Check applied stickers and any name tag, as they change how the blue panel design reads.
  • Confirm whether you are buying a StatTrak™ or Souvenir copy, since both versions exist for this skin.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Players looking for the cheapest entry into this design.
  • Buyers who appreciate that the range stops early in this grade, leaving more colour than usual.
  • Conclusion: the budget entry with less damage than the grade name suggests.
