Skin overview

This MAG-7 finish combines a pale cream base with red-orange flecks and dark burnt-looking patches. Battle-Scarred is the top end of the skin's range, so edges, the muzzle area and the magazine show bare dark metal where the paint has flaked away. The result looks like a weapon that has actually been through a fire, which some players prefer.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver and upper body are covered in a cream base with dense red-orange speckling and irregular dark brown to black patches that read as scorch marks. The muzzle shroud and barrel stay mostly dark grey, with red spots creeping onto the tip.

Large areas of bare dark metal show on all edges, the top rail, the front section and the magazine base. The cream and red layers are broken up and patchy. At normal distance the weapon looks heavily burnt, with the red flecks scattered across a darker body. Only the middle of the side panels and the grip keep a reasonable amount of the pattern.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.49

The float of Souvenir MAG-7 | Firestarter ranges from 0.06 to 0.49; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.49 — 9% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir MAG-7 | Firestarter belongs to The Vanguard Collection, which holds 14 skins.

The source is Operation Vanguard Weapon Case (on sale since Nov 5, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Red, orange and black stickers echo the ember and scorch colours, while cream or gold accents sit well on the pale base. Placements on the side of the receiver keep the stickers visible without covering the darkest patches.

What to check before buying

  • Factory New starts right at the bottom of this skin's float range, so it occupies only a narrow band and the float within it matters little visually.
  • In mid and high wears, check the top rail, front edges and magazine base in inspect, as these lose paint first.
  • Look at any applied stickers and their wear, since they change how the cream body reads.
  • If you want a StatTrak™ copy, make sure the counter and any name tag are what you expect.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Players who want the most burnt, fire-damaged look of the finish.
  • The lowest-cost entry into this skin.
  • Conclusion: for those who see heavy wear as part of the theme.
