Skin overview

On the MAG-7 this finish imitates burnt, distressed paint, with red embers and dark scorch marks over a cream base. In Field-Tested the scuffing starts to blend into that theme, since chipped spots look like more of the same burnt effect. The overall red-and-cream pattern is still clearly readable in hand.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The receiver and upper body are covered in a cream base with dense red-orange speckling and irregular dark brown to black patches that read as scorch marks. The muzzle shroud and barrel stay mostly dark grey, with red spots creeping onto the tip.

Chipping becomes visible along edges, the top rail and the lower part of the magazine, with dark metal showing through. The cream base looks slightly dulled in places. At normal distance the wear merges with the scorch-mark pattern and does not break the look. The side panels of the receiver and the grip still look largely clean.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir MAG-7 | Firestarter is 0.06–0.49; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (53% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Vanguard Collection with 14 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Vanguard Weapon Case (on sale since Nov 5, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Red, orange and black stickers echo the ember and scorch colours, while cream or gold accents sit well on the pale base. Placements on the side of the receiver keep the stickers visible without covering the darkest patches.

What to look at before you buy

  • Factory New starts right at the bottom of this skin's float range, so it occupies only a narrow band and the float within it matters little visually.
  • In mid and high wears, check the top rail, front edges and magazine base in inspect, as these lose paint first.
  • Look at any applied stickers and their wear, since they change how the cream body reads.
  • If you want a StatTrak™ copy, make sure the counter and any name tag are what you expect.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • CT players who use the MAG-7 and want a recognisable finish for everyday play.
  • Buyers who like how chipping blends into the burnt theme.
  • Conclusion: a balanced middle option where wear suits the design.
