Skin overview

The Monster Call finish on the MAG-7 relies on contrast between a dark blue background and bright creatures: the purple monster jaw wrapping the front grip and the green fish across the receiver. In Minimal Wear the scene still reads as complete, and any marks are small enough to stay hidden in normal play. It is a sensible way to get a near-clean look without paying for the top grade.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The base of the whole weapon is a dark navy blue scattered with small light specks that look like plankton or bubbles. The front grip is painted as a purple sea monster with a green eye and a wide open jaw lined with white teeth that curls around the grip.

Tiny scuffs may appear at the muzzle and on the very edge of the front grip. The monster's jaw, the green fish and the speckled base stay intact. In game it looks practically the same as Factory New, because the dark navy hides small marks well. Copies near the clean end of this grade are hard to tell from the top grade even in inspect.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir MAG-7 | Monster Call is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in green, teal, purple or orange echo the creatures and glows of the artwork, while holo and foil stickers suit the deep-sea theme. Placing them on the receiver near the green fish keeps the monster's jaw on the front grip uncovered.

• Inspect the front grip first, because the monster's jaw and teeth sit on the parts that wear earliest.
• Check where the float sits within the grade, as low and high floats in the middle grades look noticeably different.
• Look at the muzzle and the bottom of the magazine for scuffs that stand out against the dark base.
• Check stickers and a name tag on the copy, since they change the look and may not suit your plans.
