Skin overview

Modest Threat is an orange-and-black hand-painted MP9 with stripes, panel lines and a white 01. In Battle-Scarred large parts of the orange are worn through, leaving a rough, stripped surface on the most exposed areas. It is the most weathered version of the design and keeps the orange tone as patches rather than a solid coat.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver is painted orange with dark horizontal stripes and a grey-black top section, and its side carries a dark panel with a white 01 and small markings. The front of the gun, including the foregrip, follows the same orange base with black ribbed striping, while the muzzle stays dark.

Heavy paint loss covers the top of the receiver, the muzzle end, the foregrip, the magazine and the buttplate. Much of the fine striping and small text is lost on these parts, and the 01 can be partly worn. Flatter areas on the receiver side and the pistol grip keep the most orange. In game the gun looks rough and stripped, with orange showing in patches.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.75

The float of Souvenir MP9 | Modest Threat ranges from 0 to 0.75; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.75 — 40% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Danger Zone Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from Danger Zone Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Black, white, grey or orange stickers continue the industrial look of the finish. Placing them on the receiver away from the 01 panel keeps the main marking visible, and small technical or text-style stickers fit the existing markings well.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade keep more orange on the edges.
  • Inspect the muzzle end, the foregrip ribs and the base of the magazine, as these show paint loss first.
  • Check whether the white 01 on the receiver is intact, because it is the key detail of the design.
  • Note any applied stickers or name tag, as they change how the receiver side looks.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Players who prefer a rough, stripped look on their weapons.
  • Budget buyers who want the cheapest way to get this design.
  • Conclusion: the pick for a heavily weathered, service-worn MP9.
