Skin overview

Ruby Poison Dart is built on contrast: warm red-orange spots, cool purple fill and thick black outlines. In Field-Tested the colours remain bright across the large surfaces of the receiver and grips. Scuffs on the edges become visible up close but do not break the pattern.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The receiver and handguard are covered in irregular red-orange spots, each ringed in black, with magenta and purple metallic paint between them. The same pattern continues onto the ribbed foregrip, where purple dominates, and onto the pistol grip, which mixes orange spots with magenta.

Scuffs to grey metal show along the receiver edges, the front of the handguard and the grip ribs, and the trigger guard picks up small chips. The colours on the flat sides of the receiver keep most of their brightness. In game the pattern still reads clearly and the wear is noticeable mainly on inspect. The centre of the receiver and the sides of the grips look largely untouched.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Ruby Poison Dart is 0–0.5; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (46% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Falchion Collection with 16 skins in total.

It drops from Falchion Case (on sale since Apr 15, 2015).

What it costs in each quality

Taking Field-Tested as the baseline, Factory New — 23× dearer. Based on the cheapest SkinOut.gg listing of each quality, otherwise on the market reference.

By price this skin is 5th of 6 skins Restricted MP9 in this quality (the first being the dearest).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in red, magenta, purple or black match the frog-spot artwork, and holographic or foil stickers echo the metallic paint. Placements on the plain grey stock and magazine area stand out, while stickers on the receiver are best kept dark so they do not clash with the busy pattern.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low value inside Field-Tested or Well-Worn noticeably reduces scuffing on the edges.
  • Inspect the top edge of the receiver and the grip ribs, as these parts lose paint first.
  • Look at the pattern placement on the receiver, because the spot layout differs between copies and some show more red on the visible side.
  • Check for applied stickers and a name tag, which can change how the copy looks.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who want bright colours in game and do not inspect the gun closely.
  • Buyers looking for a balance between appearance and cost.
  • Conclusion: a sensible middle choice for regular play.
