Skin overview

Ol' Rusty is a skin built around corrosion, so in Field-Tested the extra scratches blend into the theme rather than fight it. The copper rails and teal receiver remain clearly readable, while edges start to show lighter metal. Many players find this grade fits the rusty-friend idea best.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The handguard with its long rail sections, the barrel, the scope and the stock are finished in a warm copper-orange tone that imitates rusted steel. The receiver is dark teal and blue-grey, broken up by red-orange rust blotches, and the nickname Ol' Rusty is stamped above the trigger housing.

Wear becomes visible along the rail ridges, the muzzle, the magazine edges and the butt plate, where lighter metal shows through. The flat surfaces of the handguard and the receiver still hold most of their colour. In game the scratches mix with the painted rust and the skin reads as intended.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Ol' Rusty is 0–0.7; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (33% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir SG 553 | Ol' Rusty belongs to The Fracture Collection, which holds 17 skins.

It drops from Fracture Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in copper, orange, teal or muted blue echo the skin's two-tone scheme, while gold and holographic finishes stand out against the rust. Placements on the receiver and the magazine sit on the cooler teal and blue areas, giving warm-coloured stickers more contrast.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade keep noticeably more colour on the rails.
  • Look at the rail ridges, muzzle and magazine edges, as these show wear first.
  • Make sure the Ol' Rusty stamp above the trigger housing is readable if that detail matters to you.
  • Review applied stickers and any name tag, because they change the look and are not removed for free.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who like the weathered theme and do not mind visible edge wear.
  • Buyers looking for a cheaper copy that still shows the full colour scheme.
  • The grade where wear and the rust design work together best.
