Show allAllSkin overview
Tiger Moth is a moth wing finish in orange, dark brown and cream, and in Battle-Scarred it survives mostly as patches of colour on a worn rifle. Large sections of paint are gone from edges and raised parts, but the orange tone still gives the SG 553 a warm silhouette in game. It is the most affordable way to own this pattern.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.
Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.
The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Battle-Scarred
The handguard and rail section are painted in orange-brown with a pale cream lattice of wing cells running along the top. The receiver carries a bright orange base covered in dark brown and black spots that imitate moth wing markings.
Large areas of the handguard, magazine and stock show bare metal, and the cream lattice survives only in fragments. Scratches also reach the receiver, breaking up the dark spot pattern. In game the rifle looks heavily worn with orange showing in patches. The flatter middle parts of the receiver hold the most paint.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1
The float of Souvenir SG 553 | Tiger Moth ranges from 0 to 1; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–1 — 55% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Where the skin comes from: collection and case
Souvenir SG 553 | Tiger Moth belongs to The Revolver Case Collection, which holds 17 skins.
The source is Revolver Case.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Orange, gold, black and dark brown stickers sit naturally on this finish and follow its warm scheme. Holo or gold stickers on the receiver side stand out well against the orange base, while dark stickers blend into the spotted pattern.
What to look at before you buy
- Look at where the float sits within the wear range, as low and high copies of the same grade can look noticeably different.
- Check the rail edges, the front of the handguard and the magazine edges, since this finish loses paint there first.
- Look at how the dark spots sit on the receiver and magazine in the inspect screenshot.
- Check applied stickers and a name tag, as they change both the look and the value of the copy.
Who should buy Battle-Scarred
- Budget buyers who want the cheapest entry to this skin.
- Players who enjoy a heavily worn finish with patches of orange.
- Conclusion: the most affordable way to try Tiger Moth.
