Skin overview

Tiger Moth covers the SG 553 in an orange and dark brown moth wing motif with cream cells along the front of the rifle. In Field-Tested the edges and protruding parts start to lose paint, while the large orange areas and the wing pattern still read clearly. It is a practical middle grade that keeps the character of the finish.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The handguard and rail section are painted in orange-brown with a pale cream lattice of wing cells running along the top. The receiver carries a bright orange base covered in dark brown and black spots that imitate moth wing markings.

Wear becomes visible on the rail, the front of the handguard and the magazine edges, where small patches of metal show through. The cream lattice loses some definition at the edges. In game the orange and the spot pattern still read clearly. The central receiver and the flat areas of the stock mostly stay clean.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Orange, gold, black and dark brown stickers sit naturally on this finish and follow its warm scheme. Holo or gold stickers on the receiver side stand out well against the orange base, while dark stickers blend into the spotted pattern.
