Souvenir SSG 08 | Death's Head (Minimal Wear)

Skin overview

The skin pairs a mottled brown body with hawkmoth-wing striping in orange and black that concentrates on the grip, cheek rest and butt. In Minimal Wear the artwork looks practically the same as a fresh copy at normal viewing distance, with only tiny marks on the sharpest edges. It is the sensible way to get the clean look of the moth pattern at a lower grade.

Item type: sniper rifle. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The grip, cheek rest and butt carry the main motif: bright orange bands separated by black stripes, imitating the wing pattern of a death's-head hawkmoth. The receiver and handguard are painted in a tan and olive tone with dark brown spots, while orange accents edge the area around the trigger guard and stock frame.

Small specks of wear may appear on the muzzle brake and the edges of the handguard rails. The orange on the grip and stock keeps its full brightness, and the stripe borders remain clean. At normal distance in game the rifle looks the same as a Factory New copy. Only close inspection reveals the marks.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The float of Souvenir SSG 08 | Death's Head ranges from 0 to 0.51; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.15 — 16% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Operation Hydra Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Hydra Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Orange, gold, black and brown stickers echo the hawkmoth palette and sit well on the olive handguard. Placements along the side of the receiver keep the striped grip and stock free, so the main motif stays visible. Insect or dark-themed designs fit the death's-head idea of the finish.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the grade, since lower values keep the muzzle and rails cleaner.
• Look at the grip and stock in the inspect view, as the orange stripes there carry the whole design.
• Compare StatTrak™ and Souvenir copies against regular ones if the counter or applied stickers matter to you.
• Make sure any existing stickers or name tag fit the orange-and-brown palette before buying.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

• Players who want a fresh-looking rifle in game without paying for the top grade.
• Crafters who accept tiny edge marks hidden under normal viewing.
• Conclusion: the balanced choice for a clean look at a lower grade.
