Skin overview

Halftone Whorl has a capped float range, so its Battle-Scarred grade sits at the mild end of what the name usually suggests. The blue and green swirls are worn through on edges and the grip, yet the overall pattern is still clearly there.

Item type: sniper rifle. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The barrel, muzzle brake and bipod stay dark gunmetal, giving the rifle a neutral front end. The receiver and slotted handguard carry dark grey and steel-blue tones with the halftone texture running across them.

Edges, grip and scope mounts are worn through, and chipping spreads further onto the handguard and stock frame. Because the float range is capped, the damage stays moderate compared with many other Battle-Scarred skins. In game the rifle looks weathered but still clearly teal and blue. Larger flat panels of the stock keep a readable halftone pattern.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.5

The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Halftone Whorl is 0–0.5; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.5 segment (10% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Graphic Design Collection with 16 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

What it costs in each quality

Taking Battle-Scarred as the baseline:

Based on the cheapest SkinOut.gg listing of each quality, otherwise on the market reference.

Among 5 skins of the SSG 08 in the Industrial Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the most affordable.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in teal, blue, green or silver blend with the halftone swirls. Matte or holo stickers in cool tones work well on the handguard, while a single contrasting accent near the receiver can stand out against the muted palette.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies at the low end of a grade look noticeably cleaner.
  • Inspect the handguard edges, grip and scope rings, as these lose paint first.
  • Souvenir copies exist, so decide whether you want one with its applied stickers or a plain version.
  • Look at any name tag or stickers already applied to make sure they match your taste.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Buyers who want the cheapest grade, which stays moderate thanks to the capped float range.
  • Players who enjoy a battle-worn look while keeping the pattern visible.
  • A low-cost way to own the skin without heavy damage.
