Skin overview

This SSG 08 keeps its recognisable scheme: a dark body, red and cyan offset dots and pale stripes on the stock. In Field-Tested the stripes and outer edges show visible scuffing, while the dark base hides much of the wear. At normal play distance the rifle still reads as a black sniper with a colourful scatter.

Item type: sniper rifle. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The barrel, receiver and handguard are finished in near-black with small red and cyan marks placed slightly out of line, which creates the offset, double-image effect. The receiver side carries white inserts and small light markings that break up the dark surface.

Scratches spread along the barrel, the edges of the receiver and the outline of the stock. The pale stripes show scuffing more than the dark base does, and some small coloured marks start to fade. At normal distance the rifle still looks dark with a visible colour scatter. Flat central areas of the receiver remain mostly clean.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Parallax is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Operation Broken Fang Collection with 17 skins in total.

The source is Operation Broken Fang Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in red, cyan, white or black match the scattered marks and the dark base. Glitch-style or holographic stickers along the receiver side or barrel echo the offset effect, while bright warm colours outside the palette tend to clash.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, because the light stock stripes show scuffing earlier than the dark base.
  • Inspect the muzzle and barrel edges, as these lose paint first.
  • Look at the stock in inspect mode to see how much contrast the stripes have kept.
  • Note any stickers or name tag already applied and whether they suit the red and cyan scheme.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who mainly see the rifle in hand and care about the overall dark look.
  • Buyers looking for a balance between condition and cost.
  • A practical middle option where the dark base hides much of the wear.
