Skin overview

In Well-Worn the Slashed finish keeps its core idea of orange strikes on a dark hydrographic base, but the rifle clearly looks used. The streaks become thinner and broken in places, and grey metal starts to show along the scope and stock edges. From a normal distance the claw pattern is still easy to recognise.

Item type: sniper rifle. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Well-Worn

The base of the finish is dark charcoal, almost black, with a slightly mottled hydrographic texture. Orange claw marks run diagonally across the scope tube, the receiver sides, the pistol grip, the cheek rest and the stock, often in groups of parallel strokes.

Wear spreads from the edges onto larger areas: the scope tube, the top of the receiver and the grip show clear grey patches. The orange strokes thin out and break, especially near the cheek rest and the back of the stock. In game the pattern is still readable, but the contrast is softer and the dark base looks washed. The sides of the receiver and the lower stock usually stay in better shape.

Well-Worn wear: float 0.38–0.45

The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Slashed is 0.15–0.8; Well-Worn takes the 0.38–0.45 segment (11% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Huntsman Collection with 20 skins in total.

The source is Huntsman Weapon Case (on sale since Jun 11, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Orange, red, black and gold stickers match the claw artwork, and holo or foil versions in warm tones add accent without fighting the streaks. Placing them along the receiver side under the scope keeps the densest slashes on the stock visible. Cold blues and greens tend to clash with the orange.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the grade, since lower values keep the orange streaks brighter and more complete.
  • Inspect the scope, the top of the receiver and the grip first, as these parts lose paint before the rest of the rifle.
  • The pattern position shifts between copies, so look at how densely the claw marks fall on the scope and stock if that matters to you.
  • Check applied stickers and the name tag, as they can cover the most visible orange strokes on the receiver.

Who should buy Well-Worn

  • Players who want the recognisable claw pattern but do not mind visible scuffs.
  • Buyers looking for a middle ground between a fresh look and the cheapest copy.
  • Conclusion: a sensible compromise for everyday play.
