Show allAllSkin overview
SSG 08 | Slashed in Battle-Scarred looks like a rifle that has seen long service in the field. The orange slashes are patchy and faded, the dark base turns uneven, and bare metal appears on the scope, the top of the receiver and the grip. This grade suits players who like a rough, weathered look rather than crisp contrast.
Item type: sniper rifle. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.
Other qualities of this skin: Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Battle-Scarred
The base of the finish is dark charcoal, almost black, with a slightly mottled hydrographic texture. Orange claw marks run diagonally across the scope tube, the receiver sides, the pistol grip, the cheek rest and the stock, often in groups of parallel strokes.
Large areas of bare metal cover the scope, the top of the receiver, the grip and the edges of the stock. Many orange slashes survive only as fragments, and the base turns into an uneven mix of black and grey. In game the rifle looks heavily used, with the claw motif visible mainly on the receiver sides and the stock. The plain dark barrel changes the least, since it had little pattern to lose.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8
The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Slashed is 0.15–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (54% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
Souvenir SSG 08 | Slashed belongs to The Huntsman Collection, which holds 20 skins.
The source is Huntsman Weapon Case (on sale since Jun 11, 2014).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Orange, red, black and gold stickers match the claw artwork, and holo or foil versions in warm tones add accent without fighting the streaks. Placing them along the receiver side under the scope keeps the densest slashes on the stock visible. Cold blues and greens tend to clash with the orange.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the grade, since lower values keep the orange streaks brighter and more complete.
- Inspect the scope, the top of the receiver and the grip first, as these parts lose paint before the rest of the rifle.
- The pattern position shifts between copies, so look at how densely the claw marks fall on the scope and stock if that matters to you.
- Check applied stickers and the name tag, as they can cover the most visible orange strokes on the receiver.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Budget buyers who want a skin on their SSG 08 at the lowest entry point.
- Players who like a weathered, field-used rifle with bare metal showing.
- Conclusion: a fitting pick when the rough look is the goal, not a drawback.
