Skin overview

Crimson Foil is easy to spot by its red receiver and handguard broken up by silver metal at the front and on the long magazine. In Field-Tested the red starts to show lighter scuffs along edges and raised details, which gives the gun a used, working look. The two-colour layout still reads clearly at any distance.

Item type: smg. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The upper receiver and handguard are covered in a deep metallic crimson that has a slight foil-like sheen. The front end around the barrel, the top rail and the side rails are finished in bright chrome, and the long magazine is polished silver with dark accents.

Wear spreads along the edges of the upper receiver, the rail tops and the magazine, showing lighter metal through the red. The pistol grip begins to rub at its edges, and the chrome looks slightly duller. In game the scuffs read as general use rather than damage. The flat sides of the receiver and handguard still keep most of the crimson.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir UMP-45 | Crimson Foil is 0–0.68; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (34% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Sport & Field Collection with 16 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Red, silver, gold and holo stickers fit the metallic colour blocking, especially when placed on the crimson receiver. Black or dark grey stickers work well on the lower receiver to keep the red and silver contrast clean.

What to look at before you buy

• Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since a low float in a grade keeps the receiver edges and rails cleaner.
• Inspect the magazine corners and rail tops, as these show wear first on this finish.
• Look at the pistol grip, because rubbed red there is visible on the viewmodel.
• On Souvenir copies, review the applied stickers and how they sit against the red and silver blocks.
