Skin overview

This is the XM1014 in a red python print, where dark crimson scales run from muzzle to stock with lighter scale clusters near the receiver and buttstock. In Field-Tested the snakeskin keeps its character, and the first scuffs on edges blend into the busy, already weathered-looking pattern. It is the most balanced way to own the skin.

Item type: shotgun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The barrel, magazine tube and handguard carry a dense pattern of dark red and rust scales with scattered olive and tan patches, giving a mottled snakeskin texture. The ribbed forend and the receiver continue the same print, with lighter tan scale clusters around the receiver side.

Field-Tested adds visible wear on the muzzle, the edges of the handguard and the forend ribs, with small patches of grey metal. The stock corners and the cheek rest pick up light scratches. Because the pattern is mottled, the scuffs blend in and the gun reads almost like a cleaner copy in game. The receiver and the middle of the barrel stay largely clean.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir XM1014 | Red Python ranges from 0.08 to 0.5; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 55% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir XM1014 | Red Python belongs to The eSports 2014 Summer Collection, which holds 17 skins.

It drops from eSports 2014 Summer Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Red, gold and dark brown stickers match the snakeskin, while olive or black ones echo the scale patches. The receiver side, where the lighter scale clusters sit, is the most visible spot for a sticker.

What to check before buying

  • There is no Factory New, so a low float in Minimal Wear is the cleanest option available.
  • Check the muzzle, handguard edges and forend ribs first, since that is where the print wears off.
  • Look at the beige cheek rest on the stock, as scratches show more clearly on the light panel.
  • StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions exist, so make sure the copy you pick matches what you want.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who want a good-looking shotgun without paying for the cleanest grade.
  • Those who like that the mottled pattern hides light wear.
  • A sensible middle choice between look and cost.
