Skin overview

The Ruby phase of the Doppler finish on the Bowie Knife is recognised by its solid crimson blade, broken only by darker smoky marbling, set against a black grip and copper fittings. Minimal Wear keeps that look almost intact: any marks are small and sit on the tip or the serrated spine. For most viewers the red reads the same as on a cleaner copy, which makes this grade a sensible way to own the phase.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The whole blade, including the clip point and the sawback teeth along the spine, is coated in a saturated ruby red with darker wine-coloured marbled clouds spread across the flat. The guard and the pommel cap are in a warm copper-orange metal tone that echoes the red of the blade.

In Minimal Wear faint scratches may appear near the tip and on the raised sawback teeth, where the red can thin slightly. The flat of the blade and the marbling stay clean and fully saturated. The guard and pommel may carry tiny scuffs on their outer edges, while the grip looks unchanged. In game at normal distance these marks are practically invisible, and the knife reads as clean red.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.08

The float of ★ Bowie Knife | Doppler Ruby ranges from 0 to 0.08; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.08 — 12% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the float within the range, since a low Factory New and a borderline Minimal Wear copy differ mostly in value rather than in visible look.
  • Compare the inspect view of the blade, because the amount and placement of the dark marbling varies between copies.
  • Check the tip and the sawback teeth closely, as these are the first places where scratches show.
  • Check whether the copy is StatTrak™ or has a name tag, since both change who the knife suits.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want the ruby look in game and do not inspect the tip under magnification.
  • Buyers looking for a more accessible entry into this phase without a visible drop in colour.
  • This grade gives nearly the same red knife while leaving room in the budget.
