Skin overview

This is a quiet, low-contrast finish built from cold greys and whites, with thin darker lines left by the tape stencil. In Minimal Wear the camouflage reads practically the same as a fresh copy, with only small bare spots possible along the sawback and the tip. It is the grade where the clean urban look is kept while the price usually sits below Factory New.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The whole knife is sprayed in a cold palette of white, light grey and blue-grey, laid down in angular patches separated by thin darker lines from the masking tape. On the blade the patches run across the clipped point, the flat and up to the sawback teeth along the spine.

Small scuffs can appear on the sawback teeth, the tip and the cutting edge. The flat of the blade and the handle stay fully painted. In game the difference from Factory New is hard to notice, as the light paint hides minor chips. The guard and pommel usually remain clean.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of ★ Bowie Knife | Urban Masked is 0.06–0.8; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (11% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

It drops from Operation Wildfire Case as a rare special item.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits inside the wear grade, since the edge, tip and sawback lose paint first.
  • Look at the pattern placement, because some copies show more white on the blade and others more grey.
  • Inspect the guard and pommel on worn copies, as scraped edges there change the overall look.
  • Check whether the copy is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag you want to keep.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want a near-clean look without paying for Factory New.
  • Buyers who will not notice small chips on the spine in game.
  • Conclusion: a sensible balance of clean appearance and cost.
