Skin overview
This is the butterfly knife with the olive mesh stencil in its roughest form. In Battle-Scarred much of the blade shows bare steel and the handles are heavily chipped, so the mesh survives mainly in patches. It is the grade for those who want the balisong's model and animations above all, with the paint treated as a weathered bonus.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The blade, handles and pivot area are painted in a dusty olive-grey base with a lighter sage net pattern sprayed through a mesh stencil, giving rounded, cell-like shapes along the whole length. The clip-point blade carries the mesh up to the tip, while the spine and serrated section near the pivot are slightly darker.
Most of the blade shows bare steel, with the olive paint left in scattered patches along the spine. The handles are heavily chipped at the edges and around the holes, and the mesh survives in fragments on their faces. In game the knife reads as largely metallic with traces of green. The pivot and pins keep some of the dark coating.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8
The whole float range of ★ Butterfly Knife | Safari Mesh is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin

What to look at before you buy
- Check the float within the chosen grade, since the cutting edge and tip are the first places where paint disappears.
- Look at the handle rims and the area around the holes on worn copies to see how much of the mesh is left.
- Decide whether you want the StatTrak™ version, as it exists for this knife and is priced separately.
- The pattern placement changes little between copies, so condition matters more than pattern here.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Players whose main goal is the butterfly knife itself as an entry into the model.
- Those who like a largely metallic knife with traces of green paint.
- Conclusion: the most accessible way to own this knife, with the finish in its roughest state.
