Skin overview

This Talon Knife carries the Crimson Web pattern: red paint covered with a black web over the blade and finger ring, with a plain dark grip. In Field-Tested the red still dominates, but the cutting edge and the serrated spine start to show lighter metal. In game the web and colour remain easy to read, which makes this a balanced middle grade.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The curved blade is painted in a dark red base with a black spider web hydrographic running across its full length, from the hooked tip to the guard. The spine carries a row of saw-tooth serrations and three round cut-outs, which break up the web and catch the eye first.

Light metal shows along the cutting edge, on the tip and on the tops of the serrations. The rims of the cut-outs and the outer curve of the ring begin to lose paint. In game the red and web still read clearly, with the wear visible mainly on inspection. The middle of the blade keeps its colour and pattern.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at where the float sits within its wear range, since the lower end of each grade keeps more paint on the edge and tip.
  • Check the web placement on the blade, because the pattern position differs between copies and changes how the knife looks on inspection.
  • Inspect the serrations, cut-out rims and finger ring, as these are the first places where paint wears off.
  • Note whether the copy is StatTrak™ or has a name tag, since both are visible on the item.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who mostly see the knife in game, where the web still reads well.
  • Buyers looking for the Crimson Web look on a moderate budget.
  • A practical middle grade for everyday use.
