Souvenir AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred)

Skin overview

This skin splits the AK-47 into iridescent purple metal and blue laminate furniture. In Battle-Scarred large areas of the magazine and receiver lose their paint and show bare metal, giving the rifle a rough, used character. The colour scheme is still readable, which keeps it a cheap way to carry the look.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, dust cover, magazine and gas tube are coated in an iridescent purple that shifts towards violet and blue as the light changes. The buttstock, pistol grip and lower handguard carry a teal-blue finish with a visible layered grain, so the wooden parts look like dyed laminate.

Large patches of paint are gone from the magazine and receiver, leaving the purple only in broken areas. The edges of the stock, grip and handguard are heavily worn. In game the rifle looks rough, but the two-colour split is still recognisable. Only the most protected surfaces keep a clean finish.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.75

The float of Souvenir AK-47 | Midnight Laminate ranges from 0 to 0.75; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.75 — 40% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Ascent Collection with 28 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Price by quality

Among 7 skins of the AK-47 in the Restricted grade and this quality, this skin ranks 4th by price, counting from the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Holo and foil stickers in purple, blue or silver match the iridescent receiver and the teal furniture. Placing them on the receiver above the magazine keeps them on the purple area, where they stay visible in first-person view. Warm reds and oranges clash with the cool palette and are best avoided.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since a low float in a worn grade looks noticeably cleaner.
• Look closely at the magazine edges, as they wear first and stay in view while you play.
• Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so make sure they suit you before buying.
• The pattern has little effect on this plain two-tone finish, so focus on float, stickers and any name tag.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

• Entry-level buyers looking for the cheapest way to get the skin.
• Players who prefer a rough, used look on their main rifle.
• The lowest-cost entry, with the colour scheme still recognisable.
