Souvenir AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Field-Tested)

Skin overview

The finish is recognisable by its purple receiver and magazine set against teal-blue wood with a layered grain. In Field-Tested the magazine edges and receiver corners begin to show chipped paint, while the larger flat surfaces keep their colour. It is a practical middle grade where the look is intact but no longer pristine.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The receiver, dust cover, magazine and gas tube are coated in an iridescent purple that shifts towards violet and blue as the light changes. The buttstock, pistol grip and lower handguard carry a teal-blue finish with a visible layered grain, so the wooden parts look like dyed laminate.

Chips become visible along the magazine ribs and edges, the corners of the receiver and the toe of the stock. The purple loses some of its evenness where the paint has thinned. The worn magazine is noticeable in first-person view during play. Flat areas of the stock, grip and dust cover still look mostly intact.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Holo and foil stickers in purple, blue or silver match the iridescent receiver and the teal furniture. Placing them on the receiver above the magazine keeps them on the purple area, where they stay visible in first-person view. Warm reds and oranges clash with the cool palette and are best avoided.

What to look at before you buy

• Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since a low float in a worn grade looks noticeably cleaner.
• Look closely at the magazine edges, as they wear first and stay in view while you play.
• Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so make sure they suit you before buying.
• The pattern has little effect on this plain two-tone finish, so focus on float, stickers and any name tag.

Who should buy Field-Tested

• Players who want the full purple and blue look at a moderate cost.
• Buyers who accept chipped magazine edges as part of everyday use.
• A practical everyday rifle with the look still intact.
