Skin overview

Warbird turns the M249 into a tired service gun: washed-out blue paint, a yellow heat shield on top and rust patches across the metal. In Minimal Wear the few added marks blend into the painted weathering and are hard to tell apart from the artwork itself. In first person it looks practically the same as the cleanest grade.

Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The receiver is painted in a faded blue-grey tone with rust spots, stains and grime, and a yellow heat shield strip sits on top of the body above the feed area. The box magazine under the receiver repeats the washed-out blue colour and carries a small white marking on its side.

Small scuffs may appear on the sharpest corners of the magazine box and on the edges of the receiver. They mix with the printed rust and are hard to spot even when inspecting closely. In game the gun looks the same as Factory New. The heat shield, stock and barrel stay clean.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The float of Souvenir M249 | Warbird ranges from 0.05 to 0.65; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.15 — 13% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Shattered Web Collection with 17 skins in total.

The source is Shattered Web Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Muted stickers in yellow, orange, olive or faded blue fit the aged military palette and echo the heat shield. Weathered or scraped stickers look natural on this finish, while bright glossy ones tend to stand out against the grime. The flat sides of the receiver and the magazine box are the most visible spots.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the float position within the wear range, since a low float keeps the yellow heat shield and the box corners intact for longer.
  • Inspect the magazine box and the heat shield first, because real wear shows there before anywhere else.
  • Remember that the rust and grime are part of the artwork, so judge actual paint loss by bare metal, not by stains.
  • Check applied stickers and the name tag, as they change both the look and how easy the copy is to resell.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want a near-identical look to Factory New while giving up a little on condition.
  • Owners who like an M249 that reads clean in first person.
  • In short, the sensible pick when the cleanest grade offers no visible advantage in game.
