Show allAllSkin overview
Battle-Scarred is the roughest version of this etched M4A1-S, with heavy scuffing and blotchy metal. The finish is dark and metallic from the start, so the damage reads as aged steel rather than peeled paint. The overall look of the Basilisk stays recognisable.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The whole rifle is finished in dark gunmetal with a slight olive tint. The receiver carries an engraved basilisk drawn in fine light-grey lines, and the ribbed handguard has a matching scale-like etching.
Heavy, blotchy wear covers the whole rifle, including the stock, grip and magazine. The engraving on the receiver is faint and partly merges with the darkened metal. Because the base is dark steel, the rifle looks rough and aged rather than broken. The silhouette and the silencer texture still mark it as a Basilisk.
Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.68
The float of Souvenir M4A1-S | Basilisk ranges from 0 to 0.68; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.68 — 34% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Where the skin comes from: collection and case
Souvenir M4A1-S | Basilisk belongs to The Vanguard Collection, which holds 14 skins.
It drops from Operation Vanguard Weapon Case (on sale since Nov 5, 2014).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Dark, metallic and holographic stickers in silver, gold or olive tones match the gunmetal finish. Placing them on the receiver near the engraving or along the handguard keeps the basilisk as the focus, while a single bright accent stands out well against the dark base.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner edge of a grade keep more contrast in the engraving.
- Inspect the receiver to see how clearly the basilisk engraving reads on this copy.
- Look at the carry handle, receiver edges and silencer tip, as these parts lose tone first.
- Check for applied stickers or a name tag and decide whether they suit you.
Who should buy Battle-Scarred
- Budget entry into the Basilisk.
- Players who like heavily aged steel.
- The cheapest way to play with this finish, at the cost of a faded engraving.
