Skin overview

This M4A4 finish imitates etched metal: a dark, warm-toned body with a decorative engraving on the receiver and muted grey-olive furniture. In Field-Tested the sheen turns more matte and the edges show scuffs, while the ornament in the centre of the rifle stays readable. The worn metal suits the aged, engraved theme of the skin.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The finish covers the barrel, front sight and receiver in dark gunmetal with warm bronze and brown tones. The main detail is a fine etched ornament on the receiver sides around the magazine well and above the trigger, drawn in thin dark lines on the metal.

Scuffs show along the muzzle, the front sight, the rear sight and the edges of the handguard rail, and the lower edge of the magazine starts to wear. The metal sheen becomes more matte, and the etched lines lose a bit of contrast while staying readable. The receiver centre and grip still look mostly clean. In game the rifle appears slightly darker and flatter than cleaner grades.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir M4A4 | Etch Lord is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Gold, bronze, sepia and dark metallic stickers match the engraved-metal look of Etch Lord. Muted or monochrome designs keep the attention on the etched receiver, while bright neon stickers tend to clash with the restrained palette.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at where the float sits within its wear grade, since lower floats keep the muzzle, sights and rail edges cleaner.
  • Inspect the etched ornament on the receiver, as its sharpness defines how this skin reads.
  • Check the magazine and stock edges on Field-Tested and lower copies, because they lose coating early.
  • Note any stickers or name tag already applied and whether they suit the dark bronze finish.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • CT players who want the engraved look for everyday matches.
  • Fans of slightly worn metal that fits the aged etching theme.
  • The practical pick for regular play.
