Skin overview

In Battle-Scarred the green and gold camo of the MP5-SD is heavily broken by worn-through areas and scratches. The pattern survives mainly on flat surfaces, while edges and protruding parts show the metal underneath. It is the most rugged version of Gold Leaf and the easiest way to get the skin.

Item type: smg. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, magazine, pistol grip and stock end are covered with irregular camo patches in sage green, olive, rusty brown and gold. The front section of the suppressor carries the same brown and gold camo, while the long ribbed suppressor sleeve stays in a plain grey-green tone.

The magazine and grip are heavily worn through, and the muzzle and receiver top show bare metal over wide areas. Only fragments of the camo remain on the flatter sections. In game the skin reads as a weathered, patchy finish rather than a clear pattern.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.6

The float of Souvenir MP5-SD | Gold Leaf ranges from 0 to 0.6; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.6 — 25% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir MP5-SD | Gold Leaf belongs to The Boreal Collection, which holds 29 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in gold, olive, brown or muted green blend well with the camo on the receiver. Matte or holographic gold accents echo the gold patches, while bright saturated colours tend to clash with the earthy scheme.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since edges of the magazine and the muzzle show the difference first.
  • Look at the magazine and the suppressor front on the inspect screen, as these parts lose the camo earliest.
  • The hydrographic camo shifts from copy to copy, so compare the placement of gold patches on the receiver if that matters to you.
  • Check applied stickers and a name tag, as they change how the clean receiver area looks.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Budget players who want to try the skin.
  • Fans of heavily worn, battered finishes.
  • The cheapest entry into Gold Leaf.
