Show allAllSkin overview
Broken Record in Battle-Scarred lives up to its name: the vinyl look is heavily rubbed and much of the gold is gone. The dark base with its grooves still sets the tone, so the gun stays recognisable at a glance. It is the cheapest way to carry the record theme.
Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The receiver and barrel shroud are dark charcoal, almost black, and covered with fine parallel lines that imitate the grooves of a vinyl record. On the side of the receiver sits a round gold label with a dark letter and small lettering around it, framed by thin gold pinstripes and gold text on the top rail.
Much of the gold is gone from the muzzle, the grip rim and the label, which keeps only part of its shape. Heavy scrapes cover the receiver, magazine and grips, and the grooves are broken across large areas. In game the gun reads as a dark, rough MP9 with traces of gold, with the stock and the deeper parts of the body holding up best.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1
The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Broken Record is 0–1; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–1 segment (55% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Genesis Collection with 17 skins in total.
The source is Sealed Genesis Terminal.
What it costs in each quality
Among 6 skins of the MP9 in the Mil-Spec Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the most affordable.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Gold, holo-gold or black-and-gold stickers continue the record theme and match the label and trim. Placing them along the dark receiver behind the label keeps the gold disc in view, while music-themed or monochrome designs fit the vinyl idea.
What to look at before you buy
- Inspect the gold label on the receiver, since it carries the theme and loses gold along its edge first.
- Check the muzzle ring and the foregrip rim, because rubbed gold there is the earliest sign of wear.
- Look at where the float sits within its wear range, as copies near the cleaner end keep noticeably more gold.
- Check the stickers and name tag on the copy, since they change the look of the dark receiver.
Who should buy Battle-Scarred
- Players looking for the cheapest entry into this skin.
- Fans of heavily worn finishes who like the name taken literally.
- Conclusion: a dark, rough MP9 for those who care about price first.
