Skin overview

This wear keeps the full rainbow gradient and the crowded monster artwork that make Food Chain easy to spot. Any marks are small and sit on the dark edges of the rail and muzzle, where they blend into the deliberately grimy base. In normal play it is hard to tell from a Factory New copy.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The front of the receiver above the barrel carries a purple and blue creature with dotted details, followed by a green tentacled monster and a yellow-orange one. The rear of the receiver and the area around the magazine well are taken by a large red-orange monster with an open mouth full of teeth.

Light scratches can appear on the muzzle and the edge of the top rail. Because these parts are already dark, the marks are barely visible. The colourful receiver, foregrip and stock remain clean. In game the skin looks the same as Factory New.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Food Chain is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir MP9 | Food Chain belongs to The Snakebite Collection, which holds 17 skins.

It drops from Snakebite Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Bright multicoloured or holographic stickers match the rainbow gradient, while red and orange stickers blend into the rear monster section. Placing stickers on the dark front of the receiver keeps the central monster mouth uncovered.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since wear on this finish moves from dark edges onto the colourful artwork.
  • Inspect the thin outlines of the purple and green creatures near the muzzle, as they lose detail first.
  • Look at the foregrip corners and the stock arms, which scuff earlier than the receiver.
  • Check applied stickers and any name tag, because the busy artwork leaves little neutral space.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a look that is practically clean in game without paying for the top grade.
  • Sticker crafters, since the colourful areas remain untouched.
  • A sensible balance between appearance and cost.
