Skin overview

MP9 | Green Plaid in Battle-Scarred keeps the general taupe and green tone, but the tartan is broken up by bare grey areas across the gun. Most paint loss sits on the muzzle, the top of the receiver and the grips, leaving the plaid readable mainly on the flat side panels. It is the cheapest way into the skin and reads as a worn work tool.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, barrel shroud and both grips are covered in a taupe base with a plaid of wide blue-green diagonal bands crossed by thin dark lines. The pattern runs at an angle across the body, so the diamond shapes shift from the top rail down to the trigger guard.

Large grey patches cover the muzzle, top of the receiver and both grips, and the thin plaid lines are lost in many places. The edges of the trigger guard, magazine and stock are scuffed. In game the gun reads mostly as a worn taupe-green surface with fragments of the plaid. The pattern survives best on the flat side panels.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.58

The float of Souvenir MP9 | Green Plaid ranges from 0 to 0.58; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.58 — 22% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Baggage Collection with 15 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Muted greens, teals, tan and dark brown stickers blend with the plaid and keep the subdued look. Placements on the side of the receiver above the grip sit on the patterned area and read well; a single cream or dark green sticker works better than bright multicoloured ones.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low float in a grade shows noticeably less grey on the muzzle and rail.
  • Look at the top rail, muzzle and grip ribs on the inspect view, as these parts lose paint first.
  • Souvenir copies exist and come with stickers already applied, so check whether they suit the plaid before buying.
  • Check stickers and name tag on any copy, since they change the look more than the pattern offset does.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Budget players who want any finish on the MP9 instead of the default.
  • Fans of heavily worn skins with bare grey patches.
  • Conclusion: the cheapest entry into this skin.
