Skin overview

The skin's identity rests on its muted palette: taupe, dark teal and green arranged in a tartan grid across the receiver and grips. In Minimal Wear the difference from a fresh copy is limited to faint marks on the muzzle and sharp edges, which are hard to spot in game. It gives almost the same look as the cleanest grade with fewer compromises on the clean appearance.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver, barrel shroud and both grips are covered in a taupe base with a plaid of wide blue-green diagonal bands crossed by thin dark lines. The pattern runs at an angle across the body, so the diamond shapes shift from the top rail down to the trigger guard.

Small light marks may appear on the muzzle tip and the sharpest edges of the receiver. The plaid itself is untouched and its thin lines stay sharp. At normal distance in game it is practically indistinguishable from Factory New. Grips, magazine and stock still look clean.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir MP9 | Green Plaid is 0–0.58; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (14% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Baggage Collection with 15 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

What it costs in each quality

Among 9 skins of the MP9 in the Consumer Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Muted greens, teals, tan and dark brown stickers blend with the plaid and keep the subdued look. Placements on the side of the receiver above the grip sit on the patterned area and read well; a single cream or dark green sticker works better than bright multicoloured ones.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low float in a grade shows noticeably less grey on the muzzle and rail.
  • Look at the top rail, muzzle and grip ribs on the inspect view, as these parts lose paint first.
  • Souvenir copies exist and come with stickers already applied, so check whether they suit the plaid before buying.
  • Check stickers and name tag on any copy, since they change the look more than the pattern offset does.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a near-clean look without paying for the top grade.
  • Sticker crafters, since the small marks stay on the edges away from sticker spots.
  • Conclusion: almost the Factory New look with a small compromise.
