Show allAllSkin overview
Battle-Scarred is the roughest version of Starlight Protector: the gold stars and trim are broken up and the light body looks dirty and scratched. Patches of the rainbow unicorn remain, giving a worn, weathered take on an otherwise bright design. It is the most affordable way to own this Covert MP9 finish.
Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Battle-Scarred
The receiver carries a pale cream base with a fine horizontal grain, scattered gold four-pointed stars and thin gold lines along its edges. The rear of the receiver is taken by the rainbow unicorn head in pink, orange, yellow, green and blue, the brightest element of the whole weapon.
Heavy scratches cover the receiver, magazine and stock, and the gold decoration survives only in fragments. The unicorn loses large areas of paint, leaving broken patches of colour. In game the weapon looks grimy and weathered, with the rainbow still visible as a spot of colour. The float range for this skin stops short of the maximum, so even the dirtiest copies are not at the extreme end of wear.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8
The float of Souvenir MP9 | Starlight Protector ranges from 0 to 0.8; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.8 — 44% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
Gold, holo and rainbow-toned stickers match the star motifs and the unicorn's mane. Placing them along the light receiver ahead of the unicorn keeps the artwork visible, while white or cream stickers blend with the base for a quieter craft.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since the gold trim and light base show the difference clearly.
- Look at the unicorn on the receiver, as it is the focal point and its condition defines how the skin reads.
- Inspect the gold edges of the receiver and the magazine bottom, which wear first.
- Review applied stickers and any name tag, since bright stickers can clash with the rainbow artwork.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Players looking for the lowest-cost way to use Starlight Protector.
- Fans of heavily worn, gritty finishes on bright artwork.
- An entry option where price matters more than appearance.
