Skin overview

The idea of the skin is a gun covered in its own noise: loud lettering and bullet holes on a utilitarian body. In Battle-Scarred much of the artwork is scraped away, leaving fragments of red and yellow on bare grey metal, so it plays more like a battered field weapon than a clean cartoon.

Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The base of the Negev is a grey-olive gunmetal tone that covers the barrel, carry handle, folding stock and grip. Along the receiver runs a large red-orange onomatopoeia word with a yellow outline, accompanied by painted bullet holes ringed in yellow.

Large parts of the lettering and bullet holes are gone, and the magazine artwork survives only in fragments. The receiver, rail and magazine corners show heavy wear down to the metal. In game the skin reads as a worn grey machine gun with traces of red and yellow. Only the less exposed surfaces, such as parts of the stock, still look relatively intact.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–1

The float of Souvenir Negev | Bratatat ranges from 0 to 1; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–1 — 55% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The eSports 2014 Summer Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from eSports 2014 Summer Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Red, orange and yellow stickers echo the lettering and the magazine burst, while black or comic-style designs fit the cartoon theme. Placing stickers on the plain grey stock area keeps the onomatopoeia on the receiver visible.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since the lettering on the receiver changes most between grades.
  • Inspect the magazine sunburst, because its corners and edges lose paint early.
  • Look at stickers on the receiver, as they can cover the onomatopoeia lettering that defines the skin.
  • On Souvenir copies, check which souvenir stickers are applied and how they sit over the artwork.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • The cheapest entry for those who simply want a skin on the Negev.
  • Players who prefer a battered field look over a clean cartoon.
  • Best for budget play, not for collections.
