Skin overview

P2000 | Obsidian is a custom paint job that turns the pistol into a piece of cooling lava, with glowing red ripples running over a darker, glassy base. In Factory New the red swirls stay saturated and the dark streaks keep their sharp, polished contrast from slide to grip. This is the grade for buyers who want the molten effect exactly as it was painted.

Item type: pistol. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Factory New

The slide carries a gradient from bare grey steel and black streaks at the muzzle to vivid red at the rear, covered in flowing, ripple-like stripes. The frame has a dark horizontal band under the slide, while the trigger guard and trigger are painted red.

The finish is complete on every part: the red ripples on the slide and grip are bright and the dark streaks near the muzzle have clean edges. The trigger guard and trigger keep their solid red. In game the pistol shows a strong glowing red at any distance. Nothing on the slide or grip shows exposed metal.

Factory New wear: float 0–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir P2000 | Obsidian is 0–1; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (7% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Red, black, gold or holographic red stickers fit the lava theme and blend with the slide gradient. Placing them on the darker front of the slide keeps the bright red ripples at the rear visible.

• Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low value keeps the slide edges and muzzle noticeably cleaner.
• Look at the slide edges, rear of the slide and trigger guard on inspect, as these parts lose paint first.
