Skin overview

Cyrex is recognised by its red-on-black lines and the light panels on the magazine and upper receiver. In Field-Tested the design is still fully readable, but scuffs start to show on the white areas and along raised edges. It suits buyers who want the familiar colour scheme without paying for a clean finish.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The receiver is dark gunmetal with a white panel running along its upper side behind the scope, framed by thin red lines. The handguard is black with red sections and angular red inserts near the front, while the barrel stays plain dark grey.

Scuffs become visible on the white magazine and the upper receiver panel, and the raised edges of the handguard begin to wear. The red stripes on the stock may show light scratches at their edges. In game the white areas look slightly dirty but the pattern is easy to recognise. The barrel, scope and most of the dark body still look tidy.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir SG 553 | Cyrex ranges from 0 to 1; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 23% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir SG 553 | Cyrex belongs to The Falchion Collection, which holds 16 skins.

It drops from Falchion Case (on sale since Apr 15, 2015).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Red, black and white stickers match the finish, as do holo or foil stickers in red tones. Placements on the dark receiver area keep the white panels clear and the overall design balanced.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check the float position within the wear range, since the white panels show the difference between low and high floats first.
  • Inspect the magazine and the upper receiver panel, as they are the first places where wear becomes visible.
  • Look at applied stickers and the name tag, and compare with the StatTrak™ version if you want a kill counter.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who want the recognisable black, white and red scheme for everyday use.
  • Buyers looking for a mid-range option where the design is still fully readable.
  • A practical pick for regular play.
