Souvenir SSG 08 | Grey Smoke (Field-Tested)

Skin overview

Field-Tested is where the smoke finish starts to show use, with scuffs along the edges of the handguard and stock. Because the pattern is already grey and uneven, the scratches read more like added texture than damage. It suits players who want the monochrome look without paying for a clean grade.

Item type: sniper rifle. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The hydrographic smoke pattern covers the handguard, receiver, stock and pistol grip in swirling grey, black and pale tones. The barrel, muzzle brake, scope and bipod stay dark metal, framing the patterned parts.

Scuffs become visible along the handguard edges, around the rail slots and on the corners of the stock. The grip starts to lose some of the pattern. In game the rifle still reads as grey smoke, with a slightly rougher texture. The flat sides of the receiver and the middle of the stock keep most of the swirls.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

The monochrome finish works with black, white and silver stickers for a uniform look. A single bright sticker on the handguard or receiver makes a strong accent against the grey.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since the lower end shows fewer scuffs on the edges.
• Look at the handguard edges and the grip, as these lose the pattern first.
• Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so make sure you like them before buying.
• On a plain grey finish a name tag stands out more, so check whether one is attached.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

• Players who want a muted SSG 08 for everyday matches.
• Buyers who do not mind light scuffs on the edges.
• A practical middle option.
