Skin overview

SSG 08 | Lichen Dashed in Battle-Scarred keeps the idea of a dashed green camouflage, but much of the paint has worn through. Large grey metal areas sit between the remaining olive and green strokes, especially on edges and raised parts. The result is a heavily weathered rifle, which fits the improvised spray-paint finish better than many polished skins would.

Item type: sniper rifle. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, handguard, scope, pistol grip and skeleton stock are covered in an olive base with short dark green and lighter green dashes, plus a few greyish patches that give a lichen-like texture. The long barrel and muzzle brake stay in dark grey metal, and the bipod legs are mostly grey with some camouflage on the mount.

Large areas of bare metal cover the scope, handguard edges, stock and grip, leaving the camouflage in scattered patches. The olive base and green dashes survive mainly on the receiver and handguard sides. In game the rifle reads as grey-green and heavily used. The overall dashed idea is still recognisable up close.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Lichen Dashed is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Aztec Collection with 6 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

What it costs in each quality

Taking Battle-Scarred as the baseline, Factory New — 4.5× dearer. The comparison uses our cheapest listing of each quality; where there is none, the market reference.

Among 8 skins of the SSG 08 in the Consumer Grade grade and this quality, this skin ranks 6th by price, counting from the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Olive, khaki, black and muted green stickers blend with the camouflage, while a single orange or yellow sticker gives a clear accent. Placements on the flat sides of the handguard and receiver show up best against the dashed pattern.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade show less chipping on the scope and stock.
  • Look at the scope rings and handguard edges in the inspect view, as these lose paint first.
  • Check whether the copy is a Souvenir and whether its stickers suit you, because they come already applied.
  • Look at any stickers or name tag on regular copies, since they affect the look more than the simple pattern does.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Players who want the most weathered version of the camouflage.
  • Buyers looking for the lowest entry into this skin.
  • Collectors of heavily worn finishes.
  • In short: a rough grey-green rifle with a clear field character.
