Skin overview

This SSG 08 finish covers most of the rifle in a mossy camouflage of short green strokes over an olive base, with the barrel left dark. Minimal Wear copies show only faint marks on the sharpest edges, so the lichen-like pattern reads practically the same as on a fresh copy. For many buyers this grade is the sensible middle point between a clean look and a lower cost.

Item type: sniper rifle. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver, handguard, scope, pistol grip and skeleton stock are covered in an olive base with short dark green and lighter green dashes, plus a few greyish patches that give a lichen-like texture. The long barrel and muzzle brake stay in dark grey metal, and the bipod legs are mostly grey with some camouflage on the mount.

Tiny scuffs may appear on the scope ring edges and the front edge of the handguard. The dashes remain sharp and the greens keep their tone. In game the difference from Factory New is hard to notice. The stock, grip and receiver sides look clean.

The skin’s collection is The Aztec Collection with 6 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Olive, khaki, black and muted green stickers blend with the camouflage, while a single orange or yellow sticker gives a clear accent. Placements on the flat sides of the handguard and receiver show up best against the dashed pattern.

What to look at before you buy

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade show less chipping on the scope and stock.
• Look at the scope rings and handguard edges in the inspect view, as these lose paint first.
• Check whether the copy is a Souvenir and whether its stickers suit you, because they come already applied.
• Look at any stickers or name tag on regular copies, since they affect the look more than the simple pattern does.
