Skin overview

Sea Calico is recognisable by its yellow-on-teal flower print and the yellow-banded scope. In Field-Tested the pattern still carries the look, while light scuffs appear along edges and raised parts. It keeps the colour scheme readable at a noticeably lower grade.

Item type: sniper rifle. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The handguard, receiver, pistol grip and cheek rest are covered in a dark teal hydrographic base with small yellow flowers and darker rosette shapes. The scope is painted bright yellow with dark round blossoms, making it the brightest part of the rifle.

Scuffs spread along the handguard edges, the top of the receiver and the scope rims, and the grip starts to show light wear. The large side panels still carry most of the floral print. In game the wear reads as light weathering rather than damage. The yellow scope remains a strong colour accent.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Sea Calico is 0–0.5; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (46% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The St. Marc Collection with 18 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, yellow and dark green stickers continue the colour scheme naturally. Placement on the teal receiver panel keeps them close to the floral print without covering the bright scope.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low float looks noticeably cleaner on the handguard edges.
• Inspect the scope rims and tube, as the yellow scope shows scratches more clearly than the teal body.
• On Souvenir copies, review the pre-applied stickers and decide whether they suit the teal and yellow scheme.
• Look at any applied stickers and name tag, as they change how the rifle reads in the inventory.
