Skin overview

Tiger Tear uses a forest-coloured tiger stripe pattern in muted tones on the SSG 08. Because the float range of this skin stops well short of the maximum, even Battle-Scarred copies keep the stripes recognisable rather than turning into bare metal. Expect heavy patches of wear on the scope and edges, with the main body still carrying the camo.

Item type: sniper rifle. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, handguard, scope body and stock are covered in a dark olive base with pale beige tiger stripes that look torn and uneven. The barrel, muzzle brake and bipod stay in plain dark metal, which frames the camo and keeps the rifle looking utilitarian.

Wear is heaviest on the scope, handguard and stock, with wide patches of bare metal over the edges and raised parts. Since this skin's float range ends early, the stripes are not fully erased and the body still carries the pattern. In game it reads as a rough, weathered camo rifle. The receiver sides keep the most print.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.55

The float of Souvenir SSG 08 | Tiger Tear ranges from 0 to 0.55; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.55 — 18% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Boreal Collection with 29 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Muted olive, khaki, black and beige stickers blend with the tiger camo without breaking it. Matte or paper stickers on the receiver side keep the field-rifle look, while a single gold or holo accent works as a contrast point.
