Skin overview

Sandstorm pairs a muted purple base with angular sand-coloured splashes running along the shroud, receiver and grip. In Field-Tested the contrast between the two colours still carries the look, while the edges of the shroud and the muzzle start to show bare metal. It reads as a used but intact pistol.

Item type: pistol. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The receiver and the perforated barrel shroud are painted in deep purple with angular beige streaks sweeping diagonally across them. The magazine well and trigger guard area are mostly beige, while the long magazine stays purple with darker purple shapes over it.

Scratches appear along the shroud edges, around the holes and on the top of the receiver. The magazine base and the front of the grip pick up light scuffs. At normal distance the pattern reads clearly and the purple still looks even. The trigger guard area and the sides of the magazine stay mostly clean.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir Tec-9 | Sandstorm ranges from 0.1 to 0.7; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 38% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir Tec-9 | Sandstorm belongs to The Phoenix Collection, which holds 13 skins.

It drops from Operation Phoenix Weapon Case (on sale since Feb 19, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in beige, gold, purple or violet tones blend with the artwork. Placements on the side of the receiver or along the magazine keep the beige streaks on the shroud visible.

• Check the float within the wear range, since the shroud edges and muzzle show scratches first.
• Look at the top of the receiver and the magazine base, where wear becomes visible early.
• Make sure any applied stickers and name tag fit the purple and beige scheme.
• Decide whether you want a StatTrak™ or Souvenir version, as both exist for this skin.
