Skin overview

XM1014 | Black Tie is a shotgun finish built on contrast: dark gunmetal parts set against white and light grey panels with a chrome-like sheen. In Factory New the white areas stay even and bright, and the thin pale lines on the forend are sharp along their whole length. This is the grade where the black-and-white split looks exactly as designed.

Item type: shotgun. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Factory New

The barrel and the upper part of the weapon are finished in dark gunmetal, while the magazine tube under the barrel is light with a chrome-like sheen and a dark streak along it. The forend is black with a row of thin white horizontal lines.

The white receiver and magazine tube are uniform, without scratches or chips. The forend lines are complete and crisp. In game the contrast between dark and light parts is at its sharpest. Every part of the weapon looks clean.

Factory New quality — float range 0–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir XM1014 | Black Tie is 0–0.75; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (9% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Black, white, silver and gold stickers keep the formal two-tone scheme intact. Placements on the pale receiver stand out most, while dark stickers blend into the barrel and forend. Brightly coloured stickers break the monochrome look and suit only a deliberate accent craft.

What to check before buying

  • Look at where the float sits within its wear range, since the white parts show every step of wear.
  • Check the muzzle end of the magazine tube and the receiver edges first, as they chip earliest.
  • Inspect the thin lines on the forend to see whether they are complete.
  • Check applied stickers and the name tag, since they change the clean two-tone look.

Who the Factory New quality suits

  • Collectors who want the black-and-white contrast without any marks.
  • Sticker crafters who need a clean white receiver as a base.
  • The grade for those who want the finish exactly as designed.
