Skin overview

Black Tie is recognisable by its black-and-white chrome scheme and the striped dark forend. In Field-Tested the white panels start to show scuffs at the edges and on the front of the magazine tube, while the overall two-tone layout stays clear. The skin still reads as black and white from a distance, with some visible use up close.

Item type: shotgun. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The barrel and the upper part of the weapon are finished in dark gunmetal, while the magazine tube under the barrel is light with a chrome-like sheen and a dark streak along it. The forend is black with a row of thin white horizontal lines.

Scuffs show on the muzzle end of the magazine tube, the receiver edges and the edges of the stock panels. The forend lines begin to thin in places. In game the black-and-white layout is still clear, with wear noticeable when inspecting. The centre of the receiver panels and the dark barrel still look tidy.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir XM1014 | Black Tie ranges from 0 to 0.75; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 31% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Chroma 3 Collection with 17 skins in total.

The source is Chroma 3 Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Black, white, silver and gold stickers keep the formal two-tone scheme intact. Placements on the pale receiver stand out most, while dark stickers blend into the barrel and forend. Brightly coloured stickers break the monochrome look and suit only a deliberate accent craft.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at where the float sits within its wear range, since the white parts show every step of wear.
  • Check the muzzle end of the magazine tube and the receiver edges first, as they chip earliest.
  • Inspect the thin lines on the forend to see whether they are complete.
  • Check applied stickers and the name tag, since they change the clean two-tone look.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want the two-tone scheme for everyday use.
  • Buyers who are fine with visible edge wear on the white parts.
  • A practical middle grade for play.
