Skin overview

In Battle-Scarred the Mockingbird turns into a heavily used shotgun with patchy wood and worn-through metal. The birds on the receiver are only partly visible, and the black finish shows bare spots on edges and protruding parts. It is the most affordable way to carry this design, and the brown wood still reads well from a distance.

Item type: shotgun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The barrel and the magazine tube are finished in dark metal, with a gold-coloured cap at the end of the tube. The forend, pistol grip and stock panels are covered in brown wood with a visible figured grain.

Large parts of the engraving are worn away, leaving only fragments of the birds on the receiver. The dark finish on the barrel, magazine tube and edges is broken by bare patches. The wood is uneven and heavily scuffed on all edges. At normal distance in game the brown-and-black silhouette remains, but the fine detail is lost.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1

The float of Souvenir XM1014 | Mockingbird ranges from 0 to 1; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–1 — 55% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, brown and black stickers match the wood and the engraved metal best. Holo or gold stickers placed on the barrel or the magazine tube echo the gold accents without covering the bird engraving on the receiver.

What to check before buying

  • Check the float position within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end keep the engraving noticeably sharper.
  • Look at the receiver engraving in the inspect view, because the raised parts of the birds lose their shine first.
  • Inspect the edges of the forend and stock, where the wood finish wears through early.
  • Check for applied stickers and a name tag, and whether the copy is a StatTrak™ version.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Budget buyers who want the brown-and-black shotgun in their loadout.
  • Players who prefer a heavily used, rugged look.
  • In short: the most affordable way to own the Mockingbird.
