Skin overview

XM1014 | Mockingbird is a Gunsmith finish that combines a dark metal shotgun with warm brown wood and an engraved receiver showing birds in flight in silver and gold. In Factory New the engraving is crisp and the metal accents keep their full shine. The wood grain on the forend and grip reads cleanly, with no breaks in the finish.

Item type: shotgun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The barrel and the magazine tube are finished in dark metal, with a gold-coloured cap at the end of the tube. The forend, pistol grip and stock panels are covered in brown wood with a visible figured grain.

The finish is complete on every part of the shotgun. The engraved birds keep sharp outlines and full metallic shine. The wood grain is even and the dark metal of the barrel has no marks. In game the receiver detail is easy to see when inspecting the weapon.

Factory New wear: float 0–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir XM1014 | Mockingbird is 0–1; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (7% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, brown and black stickers match the wood and the engraved metal best. Holo or gold stickers placed on the barrel or the magazine tube echo the gold accents without covering the bird engraving on the receiver.

What to check before buying

  • Check the float position within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end keep the engraving noticeably sharper.
  • Look at the receiver engraving in the inspect view, because the raised parts of the birds lose their shine first.
  • Inspect the edges of the forend and stock, where the wood finish wears through early.
  • Check for applied stickers and a name tag, and whether the copy is a StatTrak™ version.

Who the Factory New quality suits

  • Collectors who want the engraving with its full shine.
  • Players planning a clean sticker craft on a classic-looking shotgun.
  • In short: the choice for those who want the design exactly as intended.
